Grow Your Own Christmas Tree

A Unique Growing Experience for Families | Easter Holidays | Pontybat Farm, Brecon

£30 per family

The Experience

Plant your own family Christmas tree this Easter and start a four-year tradition! In this first visit (£30), you'll plant your tree together, make a wooden name plaque, meet our farm animals, and begin a journey you can continue each year.

Feed the chickens, help with the sheep, enjoy hot drinks by the pond, and take home a printed photo of your planting day. Return in future years to see your tree grow (optional visits, booked separately), and in Year 4, harvest it to bring home for Christmas.

It's planting, caring, and creating memories rolled into one special family experience.

Perfect for families with children aged 3-10 looking for hands-on Easter holiday activities near Brecon.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if it rains? We're a working smallholding - a bit of rain doesn't stop us! Just bring wellies and waterproof coats. If the weather is truly awful (storm-level), we'll contact you to reschedule.

Are all 4 years included in the £30 price? No - the £30 is for Year 1 only (planting your tree). Future years are optional and booked separately each year, with pricing confirmed closer to the time.

What ages is this suitable for? Perfect for children aged 3-10, though all ages are welcome. We've had babies (parents do the planting while they enjoy the ride!) and teenagers who loved getting stuck in. If your child enjoys being outdoors and getting muddy, this is for them.

Can grandparents/other family members come? Yes! The £30 covers your family group. Just let us know of any additional members at booking so we can provide enough refreshments.

Can we come with friends?

Absolutely! Want to bring another family along? Just let us know and we'll set you up with two trees in the same time slot. The second family pays separately - we can invoice them or they can pay on the day.

How long does the visit last? Approximately 1 1/2 hours. We keep things relaxed and unhurried - no need to rush!

What should we wear/bring? Wellies and outdoor clothes that can get muddy. We provide everything else - tools, materials, refreshments, and all the farm fun!

Do we need to book all 4 years now? No - just book Year 1. We'll email you each year with details for the next visit. There's no obligation to continue.
