About Copper & Holly
We're passionate about all things Christmas here in the Copper & Holly family. Our Christmas shop that opens during November and December means you get to meet all of us that are involved with this family run business. Gwilym, who looks after your fresh Christmas trees, Annabelle (me) who oversees everything to do with the Christmas shop and Christmas trees, and Holly who entertains your children, by showing them our motley collection of pet animals when you come to visit our Christmas shop!
Just 2 months after starting our relationship, it became apparent how much Christmas would play in our lives, when it came to decorating our home for our first Christmas! Within a year, Annabelle had become a part time agent for a Christmas company based in South Wales, which fitted in nicely with full time work, but the Christmas shop of our own didn't come into fruition until several years later, when we moved to a smallholding sitauted on the A470.
Pontybat Farm had always been bought with its location first in mind, it was perfect for any of the plans that we wanted to do (and it seemed like those plans were changing every week!), including a pop up Christmas shop, and just 3 weeks after moving in, we'd bought a small order from a Christmas trade supplier, 25 Christmas trees, hand painted some signs on the road, and opened the doors to our very own Christmas shop! Half an hour later, Gwilym was back on the road for more Christmas trees as we'd completely sold out!
The Christmas shop has grown a lot since those first days, with Annabelle now having a full time job working all year round just on the Christmas shop! A dream come true!
During 2020, we decided we wanted to have a go at growing pumpkins, and so for October only, our pick your own pumpkin patch was opened, along with Autumn shop. You guys loved this more than we could have guessed, and so 2021 saw the pick your own pumpkin patch and Autumn shop more than quadrupled in size!
And now hundreds of visitors are welcomed here every year, for Autumn and for Christmas. All looking for something a little bit different, and to make your family tradition of picking your perfect pumpkin for Halloween, and to visit our Christmas shop for your freshly cut tree for Christmas, or the Christmas decorations for your home. It's a special time of year, and we love that you allow us to be part of your traditions. Thank you for trusting us each year to help deliver your magic.
