Get To Know Copper & Holly - What's In A Name?

For nearly a decade, our family business operated under a different name—a reflection of our cabinet-making roots and the farm that housed our cook shops and beloved Christmas Barn. In late 2019, before the world shifted, we made a pivotal decision: to close our cook shops and focus solely on the Christmas Barn, allowing it to flourish with its own identity.
As we contemplated a new name, we sought something that encapsulated both the warmth of the holidays and the richness of autumn. Our initial idea, "Copper & Ivy," was already claimed by a restaurant on the South Coast. This led us to "Copper & Holly," a name that, serendipitously, held deeper significance for us.
Copper
Evocative of autumn's palette—burnished leaves glistening with morning dew.
Symbolic of our new direction, embracing the autumn season with offerings like homewares, clothing, and pick-your-own pumpkins.
A nod to our family's red hair—both Holly and I are copper-haired, and Gwilym's family boasts a lineage of fiery locks.

Holly
The name of our cherished daughter, born shortly after Christmas.
A resilient plant, its vibrant leaves and berries standing out amidst winter's grey—a beacon of brightness.
Steeped in folklore, holly is known for its protective qualities, believed to ward off negativity—a sentiment we embrace wholeheartedly.
Thus, "Copper & Holly" isn't just a name; it's a tapestry woven from our family's story, our love for the seasons, and our commitment to intentional living. As we continue this journey, we'd love for you to be part of our evolving narrative.
